Designing digital heritage, useful apps, and playful spaces

A small web home for cultural platforms, practical tools, games, and personal spaces.

PIG grows in more than one direction. We build digital platforms for cultural institutions, create useful everyday tools, make playful experiments, and keep expanding the space week by week.

What PIG is becoming

Designing Digital Heritage

Digital platforms for museums, galleries, libraries, archives, and Korean cultural heritage.

PIG designs and develops digital platforms for cultural institutions.

We create websites, digital collections, online exhibitions, and research resources that are accessible, maintainable, and designed to evolve.

Every project is built on open standards and carefully selected open-source technologies, chosen to meet each institution's needs.

We understand cultural information.

We are native speakers of the language of museums.

We understand collections before catalogs, provenance before promotion, metadata before menus, and preservation before platforms.

Every collection has its own logic. Every digital platform should respect it.

What We Build

Who We Work With

Areas of Interest

We have a particular interest in projects that document and preserve Korean cultural heritage.

Engineering

Every institution has different collections, workflows, and publishing requirements.

We choose technologies to fit each project, rather than forcing projects into a predetermined technology stack.

We do not separate content from software.

Information architecture is software architecture.

Our work emphasizes:

Our Approach

We respect both scholarship and engineering.

Understanding a collection and implementing a digital platform are different disciplines—but successful projects require both.

We understand your collections, your audience, and your responsibility to preserve knowledge.

We build software accordingly.

Beautiful design is only the beginning.

We believe digital platforms for cultural institutions should do more than present information.

They should preserve knowledge, support research, and remain useful for years to come.

Built for Continuity

Cultural institutions preserve knowledge across generations.

Their digital platforms should do the same.

We build websites and information systems that remain understandable, maintainable, and useful long after today's technologies have changed.

How We Work

Every project is different.

We provide design, consulting, and software development throughout the life of a project—from planning and information architecture to implementation, deployment, documentation, and long-term maintenance.

Our goal is not simply to launch a website.

It is to create digital resources that can continue to be understood, maintained, and used for years to come.

About PIG

PIG brings together experience in software engineering, linguistics, and cultural heritage.

For many years we have worked with museums, galleries, libraries, archives, and cultural organizations—designing publications, developing digital platforms, and helping institutions preserve and present cultural knowledge.

Our experience includes museum publications for the National Museum of Korea, the development of digital platforms for museums and galleries, and long-term involvement in Korean cultural heritage and museum practice.

This background shapes every project we undertake.

We believe successful cultural platforms begin with understanding collections, documentation, and the people who care for them.

Technology follows that understanding—not the other way around.

Founder portrait

Founder

Founder-led, independently built, and shaped by long experience across museums, language, and software.

PIG combines cultural knowledge, editorial experience, and software development to create digital platforms that are clear, durable, and useful in practice.

Experience

Our Philosophy

Collections first. Software second.

Understanding a collection and implementing a digital platform are different disciplines.

Successful projects require both.

Museums preserve knowledge across generations.

We build digital systems that respect that responsibility.

PIG is an independent studio built around long experience in museums, linguistics, software engineering, and cultural heritage.

While most development is carried out by the founder, PIG also draws on expertise in psychology, biology, engineering, and related disciplines when projects benefit from broader collaboration.
